Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester (formerly known as Asian Sound Radio) has introduced a new monthly feature aimed at providing support and advice for Pakistanis living in the North West of England.
The initiative will see Muhammad Tariq Wazir, the Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester, join veteran broadcaster Ibn-e-Tabish on the ‘Mid-Morning Show’.
Beginning on Wednesday, 11th September 2024, the Consul General will appear during the final hour of the show, after 12 midday., to discuss various issues affecting the Pakistani community in the region. This new feature offers listeners a direct opportunity to engage with the Consul General on matters that impact their daily lives.
Since its rebranding, Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester has consistently provided high-quality content from its Manchester studios, while also featuring programming from its sister stations Lyca Radio and Lyca Gold Radio in Greater London.
Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Radio Network, emphasised the importance of community-focused programming, stating, “Radio is all about being right in the centre of the community, hence local programming is a key strategy for any station. Since launching Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester, our focus has been to champion our brilliant content from London while maintaining strong local connections. We are immensely grateful to Muhammad Tariq Wazir for choosing Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester as his preferred platform to address the Pakistani community.”
