‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ to release at cinemas after legal wrangle?
Speculation is mounting that Maddock Films’ latest release, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, is now set for a theatrical premiere, despite earlier plans to opt for an OTT release.
Initially slated to hit cinemas last week, the film’s release was postponed due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. At the time, the makers announced that the film would instead be released on Prime Video on 15th May.
However, PVR Inox filed a lawsuit against the production company, taking the matter to court. Shortly after, the film’s release was put on indefinite hold. Reports suggest that the decision to review the release strategy was mutually agreed upon by both parties, given the circumstances. The film’s shift to an OTT platform was largely influenced by geopolitical concerns, but with tensions easing following a ceasefire, the situation has now changed.
