Govinda shoots himself accidentally in the leg; rushed to hospital

Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg due to a misfire from his own licensed revolver.

The incident occurred on Tuesday during early morning hours (IST), with initial reports suggesting the bullet struck his knee.

The actor has now been declared out of danger by doctors and is receiving necessary medical care for the serious injury.

Govinda has released an audio clip from the hospital to thank his fans for their well wishes. The 60-year-old veteran is heard saying (in Hindi), “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank all my fans for their prayers.”

Speaking to ANI earlier, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha said, “Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now.”

The police have arrived at the scene and have taken Govinda’s revolver in their possession, a case has been filed.
