Salman Khan’s highly anticipated Eid release ‘Sikandar’ has opened to a respectable but underwhelming response at the Indian box office.
The Sajid Nadiadwala and AR Murugadoss production is projected to close its opening day with an estimated Rs. 24-28 crore nett in India, significantly below industry expectations. However, the film’s debut still surpasses Khan’s previous Eid release, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.
Trade experts suggest that ‘Sikandar’’s muted start can be attributed to its lacklustre trailer and underwhelming soundtrack, both of which failed to generate pre-release hype. Early reviews have been mixed, with some critics labelling the film “outdated” and others calling it “weak.”
Despite the lukewarm reception, negative reviews are unlikely to impact ‘Sikandar’’s initial weekend run. The real test will be its performance beyond the first three days, as sustained momentum will determine its overall box office trajectory.
