Madhuri Dixit to play serial killer in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Mrs Deshpande’

Veteran actress Madhuri Dixit is set to take on a challenging and dark role in an upcoming psychological thriller directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor. According to a report by Mid-Day, Dixit is currently in talks to star as the lead in a new show titled ‘Mrs Deshpande’.

The storyline of ‘Mrs Deshpande’ promises a gripping narrative. A source close to the production revealed, “The show tells the story of how the police hire a serial killer and pick her brains to understand another serial killer’s modus operandi and nab him. The show is a remake of a French series.” This intriguing plot sets the stage for a complex character that Dixit is poised to bring to life, adding a fresh dimension to her illustrious career.

If all goes according to plan, Kukunoor will commence shooting for the series after the monsoon season. The filmmaker is known for his unique storytelling and has previously helmed critically acclaimed projects such as ‘Iqbal’ and ‘Dor’. His involvement adds a layer of anticipation and credibility to the project.

“The casting is underway. The team is excited to present Madhuri in a dark role,” the source added. This role marks a significant departure from Dixit’s usual repertoire, showcasing her versatility and willingness to explore unconventional characters.
