Sony TV braces itself for launch of ‘Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’

Sony Entertainment Television is set to take audiences on an epic journey through the life of one of India’s most revered warrior kings with its upcoming historical drama, ‘Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’.

This tribute to India’s greatest child-king explores his formative years, his rise to power, and his unyielding devotion to his nation. Renowned for his wisdom, courage, and strength, Prithviraj Chauhan’s legendary battles against Muhammad Ghori come to life through immersive storytelling and stunning visuals. The series not only delves into the conflicts that shaped history but also presents the personal struggles and enduring legacy of a ruler whose name remains deeply embedded in Indian folklore and pride.

Bringing further depth to this compelling narrative is veteran actor Ashutosh Rana, who steps into the role of Chand Bardai, Prithviraj Chauhan’s trusted confidant and legendary court poet. More than just a character, this marks a full-circle moment for Rana, whose childhood fascination with Chauhan’s tales has now materialised into his on-screen portrayal.

Reflecting on his deep connection to the story, Rana shared, “I grew up listening to the tales of Prithviraj Chauhan and Chand Bardai. I also had the opportunity to be part of the play Prithviraj Ki Aankhen, which left an indelible impact on me. Portraying Chand Bardai has always been on my wish list, and now, narrating this magnificent historical saga makes it even more special. The bravery, wisdom, and indomitable spirit of Prithviraj Chauhan have shaped my understanding of heroism, and being a part of this project is truly an honour.”

The show airs weekdays at 19:30 on Sony TV, starting on Wednesday 4th June.
