Star Plus to shift ‘Jhanak’ for launch of ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’

Star Plus is reportedly set to shift ‘Jhanak’ to a late-night slot to accommodate ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ in its original 22:30 time slot, where it was initially placed two decades ago.

The cult-favourite series is making a comeback with its original lead, Smriti Irani, this July, as part of a broader channel revamp by Star Plus. The show is slated to premiere on 3rd July 2025. Meanwhile, ‘Jhanak’ is also undergoing a major transformation, including a generation leap and the introduction of new actors.

Speculation is rife that ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ will run for 150 episodes. The producer disclosed that when the original series concluded, it fell exactly 150 episodes short of reaching the 2,000-episode milestone—a benchmark she now hopes to achieve with the reboot. The original show enjoyed a successful run of eight years.
