Nuzhat Mehboob joins Friday schedule with ‘Jummah Special’

Veteran broadcaster Nuzhat Mehboob has officially joined the Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester line-up, where she will be hosting the station’s Friday religious show, ‘Jummah Special’. Mehboob, a well-known figure in the Asian radio community, was previously the longest-serving broadcaster on the Asian Sound Radio brand, which was acquired by Lyca Radio Network in December 2023. Since the acquisition, Mehboob has primarily been involved in presenting the Ramadan transmission.

The ‘Jummah Special’ will air every Friday at 13:00, offering listeners a dedicated space for spiritual reflection and community connection. While Mehboob takes on this new role, Vish Bhatnagar will continue his five-day broadcast on Lyca Radio – Greater London. In Manchester, his ‘Reload’ show will air Monday to Thursday, with listeners being given the choice to continue listening to Bhatnagar via the Lyca Radio mobile app.

Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Radio Network, expressed his enthusiasm about Mehboob’s return to the regular schedule. “We are thrilled to welcome back Nuzhat Mehboob to our regular line-up on Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester. Not only is Mehboob one of the longest-serving voices on commercial Asian radio in the UK, but she is also an institution for local listeners in the North West of England. We are proud to have her as part of our schedule,” Baddhan stated.
