Imran Khan has opened up for the first time about his 2019 split from ex-wife Avantika Malik. In a candid interview with India Today, the actor shared insights into the personal struggles that led to the end of their marriage.
“Without going too much into that part, because I’m hesitant to add a lot of fuel to the gossip fire, but as I was dealing with all of this baggage and my internal struggle, I did find that my marriage and my relationship were not helping any of that,” Khan revealed. He elaborated, “In an ideal, healthy dynamic between two people, you are making each other better, healthier, and stronger, and supporting each other to be the best, best, strongest version. We were not in that place.”
Khan and Malik were childhood sweethearts who married in 2011, but their relationship came to an end in 2019. Since the separation, Khan has moved on and is currently in a relationship with actress Lekha Washington.
