Karisma Kapoor pulls out of UK Asian Film Festival closing ceremony

Bollywood luminary Karisma Kapoor’s anticipated appearance at the UK Asian Film Festival (UKAFF) closing ceremony this Sunday has been canceled due to illness.

The actress was slated to participate in a special Q&A session to conclude the 26th edition of the esteemed film festival. Unfortunately, Kapoor has been sidelined by a viral infection, rendering her unable to travel for the event.

Despite this setback, the UKAFF, renowned as the longest-running South Asian film festival globally, has continued to captivate audiences since its commencement on May 2nd. Spanning venues across London, Leicester, and Oxford, the festival has showcased an array of diverse cinematic offerings.

Although Kapoor’s absence is regrettable, attendees can still look forward to the presence of playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy and designer Rina Dhaka at the closing gala in London.

Supported by the British Film Institute (BFI) and bolstered by broadcast partners Sony TV and Lyca Radio, the UKAFF remains committed to promoting South Asian cinema and cultural exchange on an international stage.
