Pratik Shah dropped from Shefali Shah’s next amid sexual misconduct allegations
Cinematographer Pratik Shah has been removed from Shefali Shah’s forthcoming film, which was originally set to begin production this week.
Shah has been caught up in serious allegations of sexual misconduct, following claims made by independent filmmaker Abhinav Singh, who cited testimonies from multiple women, describing Shah as “emotionally abusive” and “manipulative.” According to Singh, these accounts suggest that Shah acted like a predator, frequently soliciting or sending unsolicited nude images.
Shortly after these accusations surfaced, reports emerged that Shah had been investigated five years ago by the Indian Women Cinematographers’ Collective (IWCC), after a young cinematographer lodged a complaint against him for soliciting explicit images.

An industry insider shared, “Given the severity of these allegations, the team behind Shefali’s film has decided to drop him. The producers are currently seeking a replacement, and the project will resume in a few days.”
This may not be the only consequence Shah faces. Reports indicate that his involvement in the Sourav Ganguly biopic, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, has also been put on hold.
