The Punjabi film ‘Saunkan Saunkanay 2’ has made an impressive start at the box office, collecting approximately Rs. 2.10 crore, securing its position among the top ten openings for Punjabi films.
This marks a significant moment for Punjabi cinema, as it has been some time since a film in the industry opened strongly, particularly after the challenges posed by the post-pandemic market. The last notable success was ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’, which achieved Rs. 3.40 crore nett. However, the record for the highest opening remains ‘Carry on Jatta 3’, which amassed a staggering Rs. 4.50 crore nett, although it benefited from a holiday release.
