Navina Bole accuses Sajid Khan of sexual harassment
Television actress Navina Bole has accused filmmaker Sajid Khan of sexual harassment, sharing her troubling experience during her time in the industry.
Bole, known for her roles in ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, and ‘Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai’, alleged that Khan invited her to his home and made inappropriate demands, asking her to “take off her clothes.”
In an interview with Subhojit Ghosh, Bole described her ordeal, stating, “There was a terrible, terrible man I would never want to meet again in my life—Sajid Khan. He targeted many of us after Gladrags and blatantly crossed boundaries when it came to disrespecting women.”
She recounted, “I was initially excited when he called me, but then he said, ‘Why don’t you just take off your clothes and sit in your lingerie? I need to see how comfortable you are.’ This happened between 2004 and 2006, during my time with Gladrags.”
Bole added, “He justified his behaviour by saying, ‘You wore a bikini on stage, so what’s the problem? It’s all ‘tis and as,’ in his words. He wanted me to sit there comfortably and ‘be myself.’ I was shocked and told him I needed to leave and would only wear a bikini at home if that’s what he wanted to see. I refused to strip in front of him.”
She further revealed, “I somehow managed to leave, but he called me at least 50 times, asking why I wasn’t coming back and where I had gone.”
Sajid Khan has faced multiple allegations of sexual harassment, particularly during the #MeToo movement in 2018. Around nine women from the industry, including Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, Aahana Kumra, and Mandana Karimi, accused him of similar misconduct. These allegations continue to cast a shadow over his career and reputation.
