Sony TV to revive iconic shows ‘CID’ & ‘Aahat’?

Sony TV is reportedly planning to bring back two of its most iconic shows, ‘CID’ and ‘Aahat’, as part of a broader strategy to revive the channel’s fortunes.

The broadcaster, which has been struggling with low TRP in recent weeks, is said to be reviewing its programming lineup, with a number of new shows expected to premiere around October.

The crime series ‘CID’ and the horror show ‘Aahat’ are among the most beloved and long-running programs in Indian television history. ‘CID’, in particular, left an indelible mark on viewers with its memorable characters, including Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Dayanand Shetty as Inspector Daya, Aditya Srivastava as Senior Inspector Abhijeet, and Narendra Gupta as Dr. Salunkhe. Another beloved character was Fedricks, played by Dinesh Phadnis, who unfortunately passed away in December 2023.

While the details of the revival have not yet been officially confirmed by Sony TV, the return of these classic shows is highly anticipated.
